Zeta is Cheshire Champion


Eaton Bank Academy is celebrating a new Cheshire School Athletics Champion! Talented Year 9 student Zeta McCormack won the junior discus competition at the Warrington Track and Field event. Representing the Macclesfield district, Zeta beat a strong field of 7 competitors to be crowned Cheshire Champion!

Eaton Bank Academy was proudly represented by a total of 4 students at the competition, who successfully progressed from the Macclesfield district finals to compete at the Cheshire Schools Championships.  Maurice Bolton (Year 10), who arrived at the competition as Macclesfield District Long Jump champion, finished in 2nd place, only narrowly missing 1st place by 3cm.  Jamie Moreton (Year 9) competed in the shot, finishing in 6th place and Lizzie Stafford represented Eaton Bank Academy in the 1500 also finishing in 6th place.

P.E Teacher Mr Margolan is impressed with the students’ achievements stating “we are immensely proud of all the students who were selected to represent the Macclesfield District at the Cheshire Schools Championships. To reach the Cheshire finals in a huge achievement and the students should be very proud of themselves. They all competed extremely well, and we are especially pleased that Eaton Bank Academy can celebrate a new Cheshire Schools Champion!”
