Eaton Bank Academy’s Young Enterprise team Recyclite has succeeded in winning the ‘Best Company Presentation’ award at the regional Young Enterprise finals.
The annual competition, which the school has taken part in for the last five years, saw a number of schools from across the East Cheshire and Warrington regions taking part in the competition for a variety of prestigious prizes.
The Eaton Bank team focussed their company, which was set up in September, on recycling bottle tops and making them into candles. They have worked hard throughout the year with the support of Roy Hammond and Viki Frogley, business advisors from Barclays Radbroke site and local furniture retailer and entrepreneur, Nick Bianchi of Arighi Bianchi, Macclesfield.
Ahead of the event, the team had to submit business plans and a company report, before providing a presentation and trade stand at the event. Each team took to the stage in front of a 150-strong audience, including competitors to promote their journey as part of the Young Enterprise Company Programme.
The Eaton Bank team came through triumphing against the other teams to take the trophy for Best Company Presentation, which was presented by Rob Chaddock of EMR Group.
Lead Teacher for the group, Mrs Rice commented: “The team should be incredibly proud of their achievement. As a school, we are incredibly pleased with the outcome of our involvement in the Young Enterprise Company programme, especially given this isn’t the first time we’ve won the presentation award at this event.”
Speaking about their Young Enterprise experience, student Katie Smith commented “We’ve all really enjoyed taking part and learning about the ins and outs of how to run a successful business. We are particularly pleased with our award for the Best Presentation as we’ve worked really hard in preparation for the event and throughout the year.”
