There really is something for everyone with EPQ, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, theatre visits, sports leadership opportunities, performing arts workshops and working with our feeder primary schools.

Our students leave to go to destinations such as Cambridge, Edinburgh, Durham, Lancaster, Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham and York Universities.

A number of our students choose alternative options post-18, including foundation courses, apprenticeships or employment including the Armed Forces, Astra Zeneca, Cheshire East Council, Bentley, local companies; with some even choosing to set up their own businesses.

Higher Education and Careers

In line with our vision, we work hard to ensure that students are fully prepared for their future lives. We are proud of the fact that 99% of our most recent Year 13 leavers went on to their chosen university or career destinations.

We are honoured to have a prestigious Partnership Status with Lancaster University which will provide advice for both students and parents in matters relating to higher education, such as student finance, choosing courses and personal statements. It also provides individual mentoring and secures Eaton Bank students the opportunity to submit an early application for a Lancaster Summer School and the chance to attend free taster days for specific subjects such as medicine.

Additionally, ambassadors from the university will be on hand for campus visits, academic tasters, both at Eaton Bank and on the university campus, and other events at school such as open evenings and parent events.

Most exciting of all, the partnership will provide students from Eaton Bank Academy with a guaranteed conditional offer or interview for courses at Lancaster University; subject to meeting certain criteria.

We also take the opportunity for our Sixth Form students to visit the higher education fayre at the Manchester Conference Centre and provide comprehensive support for our students, preparing them for their applications and interviews and many other aspects of university life and study.

In addition, we also work with a number of local companies, working in partnership to deliver events such as our annual apprenticeship event, Year 9 Enterprise Day and various other specialist workshops.

We are pleased to work with a number of high-profile local companies and organisations including;

  • Airbus
  • Siemens
  • Barclays
  • Vauxhall Motors
  • Bentley Motors
  • The Plus Dane Group
  • The Francesco Group
  • Cheshire East Council
  • Young Enterprise
  • Flowcrete
  • Chartwells
  • The Cooperative

Whole school careers and enterprise is covered through the PHSE curriculum, through D-Days across the academic year, working with many of the organisations above and other local organisations such as DebtCred.
