Sixth Form Hustings

Posted

Congleton Parliamentary candidates have been welcomed to Eaton Bank Academy Sixth Form for a special hustings. All of the local candidates all took part, allowing the audience to hear a breadth of political views, less than a week before Election Day. Thank you to Jo Dale (Labour), Richard McCarthy (Green Party), Paul Duffy (Lib Dem), Jane Smith (Animal Welfare) and Fiona Bruce (Conservative) for attending.

The event provided Sixth Form students, many of whom are first time voters, with the opportunity develop a greater understanding of the policies offered by the national parties.  The students had a range of questions for the candidates covering topics such as the environment, Brexit, and honesty and integrity in politics.

On Election Day, all students will be able to have their say and vote for their party of choice in our ‘mock election’.
