A big thank you to Melanie Bishop (HR) and Joe Burnham (Engineer) for delivering a very interesting and informative presentation on what Senior Aerospace Bird Bellows in Congleton designs and manufactures for customers throughout the world. Joe explained how the components produced are tested for air worthiness to ensure air travel safety and how they are utilised in the aircraft industry.
Melanie explained how the three different pathways into the company worked and gave an insight into the various routes for progression. The students learnt about the recruitment process for the apprenticeship opportunities, the length of the roles and how training is provided.
Thank you, Sandra Bailey, Careers and Work-related Learning Co-ordinator, for organising the presentation, Lucy Smith, Engineering Teacher, for hosting the event and well-done Year 10 for being so attentive and taking an active part by asking pertinent questions.
