Ian Robinson, President of Rotary Congleton and secretary Maggie Walker have presented a cheque for £1,500 to Eaton Bank Academy. The money was raised at the Rotary Club’s annual Christmas Concert which featured Eaton Bank Academy’s choir and Silk Brass. The generous donation will go towards the cost of the school’s new 3G football pitch, which will not only benefit the school but will be available for the entire community.
Rtn Rod Goodier joined Year 7 and 8 assembly and spoke to the students about the work of Rotary and the value of working to serve the community. Rotary is involved with the school with its regular programme of schools and youth competitions including Young Chef and Young Artist and also has plans for a new Young Photographer, Young Writer and Youth Speaks competition.
The 3G pitch fundraising activities continue this weekend at the Rotary Swimathon. Eaton Bank Academy has entered two teams in the Swimathon which takes place at the Congleton Leisure Centre on Friday and Saturday. (8th/9th February). If you would like to sponsor our swimmers, please click here
