Following her success at the Manchester and Cheshire District International Young Chef Competition, talented student Lucy Barrow (Year 10) has represented Eaton Bank Academy at the North West Regional Finals. The region covers the whole of the North West from the Scottish Borders to Mid Wales, and Lucy competed against 8 other young chefs, including catering college students.
For the competition, each student had to create a tasty, two course dish. Lucy cooked roasted red pepper soup, duck breast with seasonal vegetables and steamed vanilla sponge, which was very well received by the judges from the hospitality and catering department at Hopwood Hall College, Rochadale.
Mrs Jones, who attended the day with Lucy, commented: “Lucy did a fantastic job, she is a real credit to herself, her parents and Eaton Bank Academy. A huge thank you to her parents for all their support”
