We have had a busy PSHE afternoon, with students enjoying a range of different activities.
Year 10 sampled 6th Form life, attending A-Level taster classes in subjects including physics, chemistry, biology, music, maths, English & art. Feedback from students & teachers was very positive & the afternoon started to help Year 10 think about their post GCSE options.
Our external visitors were from Blesma who are an armed forces non profit charity supporting limbless veterans in the UK. As part of their community programme, charity representatives visit thousands of schools a year to share their personal life stories and help others deal with every day issues and challenges. Year 9 thoroughly enjoyed their workshops and learnt about overcoming adversity and copying strategies for a variety of different scenarios.
We had lovely sunny weather for our annual Year 7 skipathon. Our chosen charities for 2018 were The British Heart Foundation and Water Aid. Thank you to Year 7 who enthusiastically skipped round the field and to everyone who sponsored our students.
