Eaton Bank Academy welcomed pupils from Mossley, Marton and District and Marlfields primary schools to participate in ‘On your marks, get set, cook!’, an interactive healthy eating and cooking show delivered by the school’s catering partner Chartwells.
The live show enables children to learn more about the importance of healthy eating and watch two meals be cooked in 15 minutes. Eaton Bank Academy head of year 7 Mrs Andrews and Mossley teacher Mr Johnson volunteered to lead the red and green teams, each supported by two young chefs from the audience. Mrs Andrews’ red team cooked Coconut Chicken and Mr Johnson’s Green team made Mixed Bean Wraps. The winning meal was judged by the audience, with Mrs Andrews’ Red team, assisted by Gracie and Bethany, narrowly beating the Green Team.
Headteacher Mrs Webb enjoyed the event stating “The primary school children really enjoy the interactive and educational aspect to the show. They have fun, learn about healthy eating and are inspired to try cooking healthy food.”
