As part of National Science and Engineering Week, eight children from Nursery Thymes in Biddulph were invited to Eaton Bank Academy to learn about what happens in a science lab.
The children carried out some simple experiments involving metals and their properties which they certainly enjoyed. They also had the opportunity to watch demonstrations such as potassium burning in water and see the vivid green colour produced when copper is burnt.
Claire Sladen, the manager at Nursery Thymes said “The children really enjoyed the experience and we will definitely be doing some of our own experiments in the future.”
Mrs Bourne, who organised the event said “It was a pleasure to spend time with the little ones. Hopefully we may have inspired some future scientists.”
