Eaton Bank Academy students have experienced musical theatre workshops run by West End performer Jono Cordin.
Jono, from Mansfield, graduated from Bodywork Company Cambridge Dance Studios in 2012 and has performed in West End productions including Dirty Dancing and award winning Matilda. He is about to start rehearsals for the new ‘Bat out of Hell’ Meatloaf musical by Jim Steinman.
The Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10-13 students worked with Jono learning the choreography for Dirty Dancing and Revolting Children from Matilda. Each workshop finished with a Q and A session for students where Jono spoke about studying musical theatre and life in the West End.
Head of Performing Arts, Mrs Venables said “the students have had a fantastic experience working with Jono. They were all really impressed with Jono’s professionalism and he was equally impressed with our students focus and enthusiasm. The students found the choreography challenging but great fun, and really enjoyed learning about the life at theatre school and working in the West End. We would like to thank Jono for visiting the school and hopefully we will have an opportunity to work with him again soon.”
