A-Level Economics, Business and BTEC Public Services students have enjoyed an educational visit to London. The packed schedule included a tour of the Palace of Westminster and the Bank of England.
“It was a really memorable day that has really enhanced my grasp of what I’m required to show a critical understanding of at A-Level. I’ve got some important exams coming up in 2017, and I’m sure that I can impress my examiners with what I’ve learned in London” Sarah Nixon
“At the Bank, there were a lot of activities, including being invited to pick up a solid gold bar – which was worth over £400 000! We then saw a video show and took part in a question and answer session, led by our guide, Alison. Her presentation was really informative, as we learned more about inflation and the work our central bank does to try and keep it at or around 2%. Touring the Commons and the Lords too, is something I shall never forget! The day all linked in so well with every one of my A-Level and BTEC courses.” Dale Vernon
“We aim to run this trip every year and I’m always very grateful to our local MP Fiona Bruce and her team, for affording our students the opportunity to tour the Lords and the Commons. Visiting the nation’s central bank enhances our students’ understanding of a variety of issues relating to monetary policy and its impact on business and the economy. The day as a whole really augments and enriches the learning of our students studying a wide range of subjects we offer here at Eaton Bank Academy”. Mr McNulty
