There were lots of smiling faces today at Eaton Bank Academy when Year 11 came to collect their GCSEs.  The atmosphere in school was joyous and was a tremendous moment of celebration.  Students at Eaton Bank Academy were really happy with their results with many commenting on how the results really did reflect the work that they had put in over the course of their GCSE studies.

Headteacher, Ed O’Neill commented: “When examinations are cancelled it is always a difficult and confusing time for students but this year group rose magnificently to the challenge of adapting to a new assessment pattern and worked incredibly hard for a sustained period of time, far longer in fact than for a normal examination period.  They have been a brilliant year group and fully deserve the tremendous success which today has brought them.  Our aim is to fully equip our students to have choice and opportunity as they move onto the next phase of their education and their lives and today has been a magnificent example of this in action.  Along with congratulating the students on their fabulous achievements, I also want to record my thanks to the staff who have worked so hard in supporting the students and to the parents and carers who have been through the challenges of navigating their sons and daughters through such a complex process…as always you did a brilliant job!”

Mr O’Neill Concluded: “A record number of students have chosen to continue their education at Eaton Bank Academy which is absolutely wonderful. We look forward to working with those students for another fantastic two years in the Sixth Form will they now be able to move confidently onto the next stage of their educational journey.”
