Eaton Bank Academy

Cheshire Schools Award Winner!

We are delighted to announce that Eaton Bank Academy has won the prestigious ‘School Achievement Award’ at the Cheshire Schools Awards 2017.

The ‘School Achievement Award’ recognises ‘an outstanding school that goes above and beyond what is expected and strives to enhance the school’s curriculum’. Eaton Bank Academy received the award for the hugely successful ‘Emotionally Healthy School’ project, which has been delivered to all year groups from Year 7 to 13, local feeder schools and the parental community.

The Emotionally Healthy Schools project focused on supporting the emotional wellbeing of young people in schools, in particular building ‘resilience’ to the pressures faced by students in different areas of their lives. Project leader Miss Griffen commented “We are delighted to have received the award and extremely pleased that emotional wellbeing has been recognised by the Cheshire Schools Awards. I would like to thank Eaton Bank staff and students who have contributed enthusiastically to this project; we are extremely proud of what we have achieved and confident that our students will continue to benefit from the resilience life skills they have developed.”

The Awards were presented at a special lunch and ceremony at The Queens Hotel in Chester where Miss Griffen was accompanied by two of her Sixth Form welfare team, Evie Foster and Phoebe Barrow. Eaton Bank Academy was shortlisted in two award categories; School Achievement Award and Active Community Award. Full details of all the awards and nominees can be found in The Chester Chronicle
