Berisford Competition – Year 11 Art Textiles
Year 11 Art Textile students worked to a “live brief” in partnership with Berisford ribbons. Students produced fantastic decorative hats based upon the theme of ‘Flora and Fauna’ as part of their GCSE coursework. Students visited Berisfords and experienced all the exciting parts of the factory. They then selected ribbons to use for their own work.
Danielle Fielding, marketing design manager and Laura Upton, graphic designer, awarded cash prizes. They commented on the range of exciting work produced by all the Textile students. Helena was placed first for her use of printed ribbon feather work, Emma was placed second for her use of colour and exciting ribbon manipulation and Gemma was placed third for her use of ribbon techniques and texture.
Overall, Berisfords were impressed by the variety of skills and ideas displayed by all the Textile students work.
