Year 11, 12 and 13 students have taken part in Eaton Bank Academy’s Apprenticeship Conference. The day long event enabled students to hear from local and national employers who operate successful apprenticeship programmes.
One of the highlights of the morning was a presentation from former Eaton Bank Academy students Winnie Bullock and Harry Podmore who have both taken apprenticeships at Barclays. The former students spoke about the process of choosing an apprenticeship, working at Barclays and the benefits of work placed training.
In the afternoon, students had the opportunity to listen to presentations from Bentley Motors, Siemens, Senior Aerospace Bird Bellows, Butters John Bee, East Cheshire Hospice, ALPs Legal, Escalla and Everybody Leisure. Work Related Learning Coordinator Sandra Bailey commented “The day has helped raise awareness about the wide variety of apprenticeships on offer and the breadth of companies that provide apprenticeship schemes. On behalf of the students and staff at Eaton Bank Academy I would like to thank everyone who took part in the day and provided our students with an invaluable insight into apprenticeship schemes.”
