Former Eaton Bank student and international triathlete Jack Schofield has visited the school to deliver the first ‘Academy Lecture’ of 2018/19.
Since leaving Eaton Bank and graduating from University, Jack has committed his life to training as an international triathlete. Referring to the challenges he has faced during his racing career Jack spoke about overcoming adversity, constantly striving to improve and the benefit of taking risks. He stressed the importance of leaving ‘the comfort zone’, trying something new and believing in yourself. Jack has already achieved 2 World Championship podium places, 1 European Championship podium and raced on 3 continents. We wish Jack all the best as he continues his career!
The Academy Lecture Series provides a fascinating opportunity to listen to a range of expert speakers. The programme of lectures is designed to supplement students’ learning, offering them the chance to learn something new, whilst preparing them for a Further Education lecture style of learning. The lectures take place during lunchtimes in the Sixth Form Centre, therefore avoiding missing subject time.
