NEW Induction Day – Thursday 27th August

During our Transition Day, pupils will enjoy a variety of experiences, including meeting other pupils, getting to know form tutors, be introduced to some of the safety measures and protocols to be put into place for September, meeting some of their new teachers and will be taken on a tour of the school. It is our aim that, at the end of their induction, your child is excited about joining us and looking forward to engaging in learning here at Eaton Bank Academy.

The practical arrangements are as follows:

  • Pupils should arrive at Eaton Bank Academy for an 8.45 start. Pupils should arrive no earlier than 8.30am.  They will need to make their way to the Main Hall by entering through the student entrance at the front of school, going through the quad and into the Main Hall, where they will be met by staff.
  • The day will end at 2.45pm. You are welcome to come and collect your child or to make appropriate arrangements for their safe return home. Students are able to walk home if you wish them to. Please be aware that our usual bus services will not be running on this day.
  • At break time pupils will be provided with a complimentary snack from our caterers in the canteen or alternatively they can bring their own break time snack. The options at break time will be a choice of either a croissant or waffle and a fruit juice. All food will be wrapped/boxed before service.
  • At lunchtime pupils will be provided with a complimentary school meal from our caterers in the canteen or alternatively they can bring a packed lunch. Students will choose one of the three options listed below;
    • Cheese and tomato pizza slice (v) and seasoned jacket wedges, chocolate crunch or fruit pot, cold drink
    • Breaded chicken burger and seasoned jacket wedges, chocolate crunch or fruit pot, cold drink
    • Bring their own packed lunch.

All food will be set up as ‘grab and go’ options to reduce the need for queuing and will be set up at several collection points.

  • Students should wear their own clothes for their visit to Eaton Bank. School uniform is not required on this day. Clothes need to be comfortable and suitable for movement around school.

Students should bring the following with them in their school bag;

  • A small bottle of hand sanitiser as well as a pack of antibacterial wipes.
  • A pen/pens (blue or black), a pencil, a ruler and a rubber, preferably in a pencil case.
  • filled water bottle. Water or squash only. Please do not bring fizzy drinks. Please note the water fountains are not available to be used due to COVID-19.
  • Students are able to bring in a mobile phone, but these MUST remain on silent all day.
  • Students will not need to bring their PE kit.
