Eleven Eaton Bank Academy students have successfully completed the TWISTA connect programme, which is run by Cheshire Police and aims to raise aspirations, improve confidence, behaviour and self-esteem.
Each of the students are allocated a ‘one to one’ mentor selected from the community to support them through the five month TWISTA programme, which included kayaking, ‘The Fire Service Experience’, taster sessions at South Cheshire College and The Crewe Hall Experience where Students acquired hands on experience from at least three different departments of a luxury hotel.
The Eaton Bank Academy TWISTA graduates were; Zeta McCormack, Josh McHale, Tom Kimber, Ryan Corbishley, Gary Sutherland, Lewis Cole, Seraphina Lafferty, Chloe Mabbett, Erin Cunningham, Shannon Warrington and Hollie Barker. Lewis Cole was selected as a recipient for the Outstanding Award, receiving a trophy to in recognition of his exceptional enthusiasm and dedication. Lewis has benefitted enormously from the TWISTA programme, in particular developing his interest of working for the Police. He has secured an interview for the Police Cadets and will also be enjoying a days’ work experience with the dog handlers at Cheshire Police.
