On Tuesday, Miss Gillan took 6 of our Year 8 stude

On Tuesday, Miss Gillan took 6 of our Year 8 students to The Fallibroome Academy to take part in 'The Faraday Challenge' hosted by The Institution of Engineering and Technology. The challenge was for students to research, design and make solutions to real-life engineering problems. Our students competed against five other schools and displayed fantastic team work and presenting skills in front of a lot of other students. They were asked some challenging questions by the co-ordinators and were very mature in their responses. Even though we didn't win, the students made such a good impression. Well done to Danuta, Liam, Cameron, Jessica, Max and Callum for representing Eaton Bank Academy so well at this event.

During October half term, 45 of our students embar

During October half term, 45 of our students embarked on a trip to Iceland. Over the course of 4 days, the students visited many landmarks including the Bridge between Continents, Perlan, The Secret Lagoon, Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss and Geysir. They also caught a ferry over to tour the island of Heimaey, watched an Icelandic Lava Show and enjoyed a glacier walk at Sólheimajökull. The students involved were incredible from start to finish and represented EBA in a very positive way. Many of the Icelandic locals, shop keepers and hoteliers praised our students for how well mannered, kind and courteous they were.

Year 9 student Isobel will be starring on BBC Nort

Year 9 student Isobel will be starring on BBC North West Tonight's Children in Need launch show! Isobel has been a a beneficiary of Children In Need Funding via the Deafness and Sensory Network and has previously featured on a special Children in Need edition of 'See Hear'. The Deafness and Sensory Network's 'I'm Hear!' project supports children, like Isobel, with any level of deafness to improve communications with their families.

The North West Tonight team visited Eaton Bank to see how Isobel has benefitted from learning British Sign Language (BSL) and how she has promoted BSL use within the school. BBC Presenter Roger Johnson interviewed Isobel to talk about her passion for music, and the school choir were filmed using BSL as they performed the 2024 Children in Need song 'Never Forget' by Take That. Special VIP guest Pudsey Bear also made an appearance! We look forward to watching Isobel on Monday 11th November.

Alongside her appearance on North West Tonight, Isobel will also be performing as part of a choir on the live Children in Need show on November 15th. This is a fantastic achievement, and we are all incredibly proud of her!
