Castles Project

Posted

Year 7 students have been demonstrating their creative skills and knowledge of history by making model castles. The purpose of the project was to increase understanding of medieval castles, linking this into the wider topic of Life in England. The students selected a British castle to research and they completed a fact-file on this castle, created their own design plans and then built a replica model of their castle. The castles chosen to study included Warwick, Conwy, Caernarfon and Beaumaris. History Teacher Mr Washington commented “This was a creative cross-curricular activity that helped students to learn about the features of these castles. The students have really enjoyed this project and have created some fantastic and detailed model castles.”
